Open .....

This flower grows on a succulent vine which I have always known as a moonflower....

as it only likes to open when the moon is nice and bright....

only lasts the one night... this is the bedraggled look the next day

they are really quite pretty.....

Thanks for this fun challenge Alsha.... I'm enjoying doing something a little bit different and finding pictures to match words is definitely a challenge for me.... if you feel like joining in the fun just keep an eye on Alsha's blog HERE

I have been doing some sewing... not much to show you but I have quilted around the first section of this doily.... tiny stitches... takes time....

the back looks quite different.....

Righto, Gotto Go.... I am going to play with aeroplanes today ..... fabric ones of course!

The doily is absolutely stunning. Funny that you would post this. While putting together a top today, I had such projects flooding through my mind. I don't dare act on any of them, though, since I have 5 quilt tops ready for some quilty goodness!!! Sigh........ Time and energy (mine) seem to be always so short!!!!! Hugs..............

I think I'd look like the bedraggled after shot too if I had been 'blooming' all night.
Your quilting is absolutely amazing.

Wow! I am very impressed by that flower; never saw one before. It is quite something else. But then, I saw your work and the back of it, it just floored me. Nevermind the flower, THOSE stitches are AMAZING!! Just gorgeous ... on both sides. Thanks for sharing.

The quilting on your doiley is so beautiful, and it is lovely to see the back of it. That is an amazing flower, open and gone again so quickly.
